This year is the 16th annual Canadian Resuscitative Ultrasound (CRUS) Course at Western University. Hosted at the sophisticated CSTAR (Canadian Surgical Technologies & Advanced Robotics) facility, the CRUS course drew trainees from across Canada to teach concepts in point-of-care ultrasound for use in the acutely ill patients typically seen in the ICU, the ED or OR.

Message from the Director
“In the 2020’s, resuscitation cannot occur effectively without ultrasound. Over the past 10 years we have finely tuned our course to deliver the most essential point-of-care ultrasound skills to our participants at a 2:1 ratio from nationally recognized faculty.”
Resuscitative US Simulation Course
“The simulation module we offer adds a lot to the course. This year participants will have the option of an additional half day enrichment course, featuring high fidelity patient and ultrasound simulators, to help integrate their US skills into real time resuscitations.”
Here's what our past attendees had to say
““Lots of patients to practice on and rotate through to see the different body habitus/shape changing the image generation.””
““The entire course was a great learning experience. Learned the ease of assessing the lungs to differentiate pathologies.””
““I am now less ‘scared’ of using US as I feel like I have more guidance and familiarity with it.””
““Will start to implement the fundamental ECHO interpretation I learned into my future practice.””
““Coming into course blind and having flipped classroom made it an effective learning experience.””
